This is actually a campaign done by our friends at Interscope that we wish was ours, but is worth mentioning since it was probably responsible for helping start the trend to include phone hotlines in music videos, album covers and social posts that we have become so involved in powering and that is now an more part of our business. (See our Phone Hotline List)
Shortly after this promotion, we were involved in powering Justin's Bieber's #HotlineBlingRemix Hotline which became a huge Internet and Twitter success that generated millions of calls from fans around the world (Trivia: the number, even though it is no longer active, continues to receive over 10,000 calls a month).
Lana Del Rey's latest album, launched September 18, 2015, came with a great (fun) surprise for fans. The cover artwork included a phone number where people could get in touch with the singer (or so it seemed). The toll-free number (800-268-7886) was printed on the album cover of "Honeymoon" and enabled fans to talk with Lana for few minutes.
Lana alerted her Instagram followers that she may take their phone calls by posting an intriguing message on the social network saying "Call me. I'm home alone x". And there were enough lucky fans that got to change a few words with the "Video Games" singer. The line later was redirected to a automated voice system like the ones we power for hundreds of artists.
