Recently we featured an extremely interactive Facebook application we developed for Universal Music Canada and Ardene. This application was designed to enable a three part marketing campaign that allowed fans to create and then vote on Justin Bieber T-shirts. As part of phase one, fans were able to use our intuitive drag and drop editor to create, publish and share their unique t-shirts design. In phase two, 10 designs are picked as finalists and fans were asked to vote on their favorite design.
Phases:
- T-Shirt Design
- General Voting
- Winner Selection
In the General Voting phase, fans are able to vote for their favorite design as well as invite friends to vote. This application is a perfect example of the notion of "hard voting" (vs. soft voting) - an important social media application concept i will discuss next week.
Promotional Tools for Finalists:
We also built special promotional tools for the finalists that allowed them to promote their t-shirt designs. This included an official finalist logo we designed, a unique url (http://2vote.me/kaelyn) and other tools for sharing and promoting their design, that we provided to each of the finalists.
French-Language Support:
What make the campaign even more impressive, is the fact it was bi-lingual with full French and English support (to support French speaking Canadians).
