Many of the Facebook pages we design and develop have support for multiple languages or regions. This is very important in certain industries where in addition to language – pricing, pre-order information, retail partners and promotional offerings differ from region to region. The South Park – The Stick of Truth Facebook page is great example of this.
This unique Facebook application supports multiple regions (US, Australia, UK, Spain, France, Germain, i.e.) in a number of different ways:
- Page defaults to the user’s local language/region
- User can override (optional) using flag navigation at the top of the application
- Language, sharing message, links, videos, promotional offers and other content are unique to each region
- Countries can be put in region groups (Netherlands and Luxemberg are in the “Benelux” group)
- Rating information and footer (optional) reflect currently selected region
- Application support region-based tracking and reporting
