We need your help. Each year our developers create dozens and dozens of widgets, applications and technologies that only get used once or many times not at all. These are cool and interesting ideas and concepts that we like and think have potential – so we give our developers the freedom to explore them on company times. Our hope is to create something “entirely new” we can offer to our clients. Everyone is the cutting edge music industry, it seems, wants to be the first one to do something entirely new and at Metablocks, we are trying to come up with it first. For the next couple of weeks, we will feature cool widgets, apps and technologies, most of which are have never been launched, but are looking for a home in new products and application.

Commerce/Video Widget:
Built to highlight products in music videos. Support FLV, Youtube, Vimeo and others. Has a online editor for sequencing products/elements.
Photo Editor
Drag and drop photo composite engine. We have used pieces of this in other application, but the most comprehensive version (based on this) was built but never used for a “Tag the Web” concept from Warner Music.
Twitter Avatar Warp
Built as a replacement for our Twitter wall component. Used once.
Catalog Flipbook
Same engine we use for album cover flips, but can be used for catalogs and other similar applications.
Rotating Album Carousel
Built for a New Years sweepstakes but never used. Rotating carousel of albums. Click on one to get more info, a preview complete with Amazon and iTunes buy links.
Cover Flow Playlist Builder
Used once for the Juno music awards in Canada. This widget allows fans to build and share a playlist from an interactive 'Cover Flow' style album/song selector. Very flexible with ability to view by artist/year/title (and other parameters), drag and drop album support, i.e.
Paint by Numbers Engine
This was fully developed but never perfected. Our initial candidate (below) was overly complex and didn't lend itself to the engine.
Custom CD Designer
Used once for Willow, this has a lot of potential. Drag and drop images, paint, add text, change brightness and contrast.
