Hi there,
Dare I say that you might want to look at adding Adobe AIR as another desktop widget development platform. eBay just reached their 1 millionth download of their AIR based eBay Desktop widget. A great endorsement of a desktop widget dev environment by anyone's reckoning.

Cheers

I never comment on blogs but I just had to this time. Rarely have I come across such a clear and comprehensive description of a web application! Thanks for a very useful discussion of Widgets.

Hi, my name is Justin Thorp and I'm the Developer Community Manager at the widget network Clearspring Technologies.

I think you may enjoy our service. We have a widget platform that makes it easy for publishers to get there content into all of the different platforms that you mention above. We also have a really robust tracking service so that we know where your widgets are and how they're being used.
